RSS feeds

Well I've set up my Google reader and set up 6 feeds. I think it will be useful for both work and personal use. I like checking to see what has happened in the news, so my new feeds will be handy to have - I just need to check one spot to see what has been published in The Age and other newspapers. I also do a Library Bulletin which lists recent article published in medical journals. I should be able to just check my reader each week and find useful articles instead on the etoc email filling up my work email quota.
The RSS feed section of this course was one of the items that I was very interested to learn about. It's amazing how many pages offer this service and I had no idea how to use it.
I'm still not sure how this will work with our end users and how to make it useful to them. Most of them would have no idea what a RSS feed is.

LibraryThing

This is an amazing site and very easy to use. My address is:
http://www.librarything.com/profile/heatherwalker66
I found postings on some of my books and think it would be a great way to find other authors to read.

Having fun

I used ImageChef for this exercise and it was fairly straight forward. The link was:

http://www.imagechef.com/ic/product.jsp

and I chose the wave link.

Yipee

Alright! - I finally figured out how to connect an image from flickr to my blog. I might try it again.

Well here it is. I'm hoping this works and appears on my blog otherwise I may start to cry. I thought this picture looked cute after search for 'pelicans', 'Australia' (too many hits) and Melbourne. I ended up searching for 'dogs' and found this one.

Just starting

Hi
My name is Heather Walker. I've just started the Learning 2.0 course. I'm writing this at 9.45pm Friday the 6th March which is the only time I have to do this. I have my iPod playing in the background, and there are no distractions - work or 3 year old son.
